Welcome home Casandra!
Wow... I just popped in and you just posted. Your Hospital in Mexico sounds awesome...where did you go? do you recommend it? What kind of hospital juices you 5 times a day...sounds pretty radically cool to me.
Anyway...welcome home!!!!!
RE: depression
Three things that are really effective for me and for many (not all) are
1. High levels of good fish oil (since you are vegan etc. this may not fly...but even
Bernard Jensen made the exception and he recommended fish oil daily)... 1 tsp for every 50lbs body weight, not to exceed a tablespoon at a time. I've worked with bi-polar addicts who swear by their fish oil! If you are not vegan, eating sardines from Norway is better if you can eat them daily. I do both. Important to get a good clean fish oil...I buy Carlson and/or Tyler (Eskimo 3) liquid.
2. Start
juicing beets. There are elements in beets that help many people with depression. Work your way up as they are powerful detox veggies. Start with half a small beet (include some leaves etc). Organic beets are in season here in California so it's a great time to juice beets daily. I'm up to one good beet a day with the leaves. Beets are also very good for building up the blood :)
And my big
juicing tip for the day: buy some organic anise seed and pour a spoonful into your juicer with your next batch of whatever and see if you love it. It is very good for digestion and really makes the juice taste so yummy!!!
3. Be sure to get a good 20 minutes of sunlight in daily. Vit D helps many things including depression. So when you take off your clothes to roll in the grass be sure to do it when the sun is shining :)
Emotionally, acknowledging how I feel and trying not to judge my feelings and not to fight them has helped me. The only way I could learn to do this was to ask myself questions about what the undesirable feeling feels like... ie: investigate the feeling. So examples are: what part of my body does the feeling reside in? is it hot? cold? constant? whatever. I picked this tip up from some Budhist who was talking about how to embrace our pain not deny it. When I asked him HOW? he told me the tips above. It's the first thing that has worked for me. Once I start observing myself having this negative feeling and investigating it, I stop resisting or denying it! Quite brilliant and simple for this one.
I send you my strongest and best wishes and lots of love and prayers...and ofcourse I burn some extra sage for Casandra.
Thanks for posting and keeping us updated.
Love,
Suzanne
