Great story! It can be positively shocking (in a good way) when you witness the incredible rate of the body's healing when it's systems are properly supported. I had a similar eye-opening experience with comfrey. I stubbed my toe on a chair in the middle of the night--I hit it hard! By morning it was swollen to double its size and had almost completely turned black and blue. I recalled reading something about comfrey poultices for bruises and broken bones, and knew I had some growing in my yard. I picked a few leaves and crushed them up to a paste, wrapped them around my injured toe and left it there for 24 hours (I moistened the paste a couple time during the day because it looked to be drying out). The next day - NO PAIN! And, even better, the swelling was all gone and the bruise already looked like it was 3 or 4 days old! I was convinced after that.
