Unprotected Sex and Heavier period.

I have been having unprotected sex with my boyfriend for the past month. We have been sexually active for over two years. When I got my period it was different than normal. It started out as spotting then it was a little bit heavier but still light and it was like that for 6 days and then i got spotting again for 2 or 3 days afterwards. Its a lot differnt from my normal periods. I usually just have a period for 4 days. Is something wrong?
