Pregnancy Symptoms...erect nipples?

Hello everyone...

During the past few days my nipples have been constantly erect and sensitive. I first assumed that I was about to start my period, but then I realized this isn't one of my normal premenstrual symptoms. So I looked it up on the web and erect nipples are a symptom of pregnancy....to the point, I took a home preg test today, and it came out neg. Any input would be helpful

also, i am a few days late, but i assumed it was because i had discontinued the use of my birth control pills
