My lyme tests came back negetive for 20 years with the mainstream tests, after I was bit by a tick in connecticut. I got the Bowen test and was positive for lyme and babesia, which would describe all the aweful lyme symptoms. If I had it to do over, I would have taken the Antibiotics early on. I'm not sure if it's been too long or not for your child though. After a point, I'm not really seeing great results with Antibiotics for lyme. I don't know where the point is where the effectiveness changes. I'm very, very alternative oriented, but I would definitely have done the Antibiotics with lyme, even with a negative test result.

Now I'm doing the salt/c. I have found that the absolute best help with side effects and lyme symptoms is the IV glutithione. I know it's a child you are dealing with, so I know that may not be possible. I also do things to detox as needed such as enemas,etc. I'm going to give you a link to a lyme article with links to various resources and info on detox support, including some very active lyme boards where people can answer your questions. Hopefully you can find some helpful info. You probably know that some detox stuff like rashes can be a good sign that things are working. It's important to minimize the effect of the toxins that are released by the buggers dying.
