This is quite true. I find I do, on the most part recieve more respect. Although some people are hesitant at first because they are not used to seeing a woman with hijab/veil, after they talk to me I recieve more respect than I got before I started to wear it. I find that at university more people are willing to work with me because I am non- threatening. Then men do not get distracted by me and the women dont feel in competition with me. Is there anymore freedom than that?
