Supporting Isalm

What is the best way to support Isalm today?

The answer is different for different Muslims.

The idea of a suport forum, is that we should not criticize an individual Muslim personally, for his choice of service to Allah.

Support does not mean agreeing with all acts by all Muslims. The discussion of what is the best way to serve Allah may be the best way to serve Allah, that is, to help other Muslims think out their best path to serve Allah.

One way to serve Allah, is to speak up when we hear of an interpretation of the Koran in a way that we feel is harmful to the furthering of the Isalmic Faith. The point of the recent book, "The Trouble with Isalm" is that too many Muslims feel that some of the violence employed by extremists is not in the best interests of Isalm. But not enough moderate Muslums are speaking up, or offering help, so the voice of Islamic Militants are almost the only voices heard from Islam.

I suggest that the actions that Moderate Muslims could take would be to form alternatives to prison for Iraquis and Palestinians. I am aware of no moderate Muslims offering effective alternatives to prison, that will reduce recidivsm for offenders now in Iraqui, Palestinian and Israeli jails. Please let me know of the moderate Muslim programs that can serve as effective alternatives to prison. The shortcomings of prisons have been shown graphically recently, but where are the moderate Muslims with Alternatives?
