Return to Food! Day 2


Lots of Qs re what's up with getting back to solid food - what will work, what won't. So here's what's happening with me, and you can make it your own however you want to.

I don't like discomfort and if I can avoid it, I will. So as much as I wanted to sink my teeth into something substantial and healthy, I elected not to. I figured my system hadn't been used to digesting anything in 10 days, to swamp it with self indulgence was going to be something I'd pay for later.

Tuesday night I made a HUGE batch of fresh veggie soup, using Knorr's Natural Veg Soup as a base (in the white packet NOT the green and yellow box). Threw in chopped carrots, celery, couple of pressed garlic cloves, red bell peppers, green onions. Some other stuff. BUT I ONLY ATE THE BROTH. Okay, some little tiny rice thingies and stuff got in the spoonfuls too.

About 3 am, I woke up with GAS and some stomach cramps. I thought, "oh, must be the rice and stuff" and then fell right back asleep. A fair amount of gas on and off the next morning too!

So yesterday I had mostly a few big glasses of freshly squeezed OJ - just SWIMMING in pulp. Awesome. Two B&Ps. Broth and some larger veggies from the soup, well chewed. Freshly squeeze grape juice last night.

OJ again this morning, soup right now. Am eating the veggies, but now they are the dehydrated ones from the package, I'm still not eating the ones I put in there. I've been chewing everything - lots of little pieces you'd usually just swallow whole. (like, who chews rice in soup?????)

We'll see if I'm cramping or gassy later this afternoon, but I'll probably do a B&P shake. Plus I started the colon cleansing master detox 4-step pill thing. Kinda missing the poop'n'peek activity!

If I'm fine with this soup, I'm eating some whole fruit tomorrow and salmon tomorrow night. But my tummy has definitely shrunk - very little intake leaves me well sated.
