ARGH

I have always bitten my tongue when I read stories like this...mainly because they freaking piss me off so bad. :(

I used to date a Dr. several years ago and I once told her that I had respect for those who choose the medical profession as a career because they really are interested in helping people...you know, the whole Hippocratic Oath thing. She pretty much laughed at my assertion...not mockingly, but thought I was very naive for that perspective. While there may be an inkling of a sincere desire to help, I surmise that 99% of all those who get into the profession do so b/c it's seen as a means to a high income and has little to nothing to do with actually fixing people.

Maybe I'm too cynical, but i have very little respect for most in the medical profession. It has more to do with selling poor souls who have genuine problems some f'ing prescription than it does to do with actually curing someone of a disease or illness. That makes me so mad I could just spit...

The righteous indignance of those in the lab coats is also what peeves me. IMO, they are part of a bad system that has little else to do with chasing the dollar bill around than it does helping people. The medical profession is based on good things, but its contemporary incarnarnation has perverted in so many important ways. If I never see a doctor again, I'll be a happy guy...and it's not because I have that 'male fear' of doctors, it's because I already know that most of their 'treatments' are bullshit.

Sorry for the rant, but this kind of thing makes me mad as hell...it's such a shame that people listen to these people. You know better than anyone that you have problems and it's a travesty that your doctor doesn't have the care or concern to actually listen to you. Yes, I was saved from cancer when I was 22 years old, but even then, so many things I questioned and I still am not sure I trust all that went on. That is probably the only case in my life when the advice of a doctor 'may' have saved my life.

It's a huge boon to folks out there that we have the internet where we can research things...do so carefully, the more power that people have, the better the control they have over their health issues.

I hate to paint with a broad brush...as I do believe, in fact, there is a slim margin of 'good' in the medical profession today...it's just that 90% of it is crap. 10% of it is acceptable and a very slim margin of that is excellent.

Glad you had the gonads to show this bozo up...I hope he has trouble sleeping at night. BTW, it sounds like his bowels are so backed up that poop has found its way into his head. I bet his eyes are brown, too...
