What I can recommend you is ALWAYS breath through the nose (also by doing sports and sleeping!). If you feel you physically can't because you need more air, it's a sign that you should stop doing whatever you are doing. Don't worry, this will be at the beginning only. Later your physical energy will get much better.

At night sale your mouth with tape, so you don't hyperventilate while sleep. If your nose is blocked, try to unblock it.

At the beginning is very common that your nose is often blocked and that it will be almost imposible for you to make physical exercise. I used to get exausted just by going up the stairs of my house (in which I lived all my life!!). You can also get sick (fieber, diarrea, etc). Don't worry. It's your health improving.

After a few days by just breathing through the nose (try to wait a few days doing just that), you can start with breathing exercises. That consists in breathing slower. The best time to do it is just after you woke up and before going to bed.

An easy guide could be the following:
3:3:1 (3 seconds inhale, 3 seconds exhale, 1 second pause).

It seems easy but it's not. You can start doing it 3 minutes and 1 minute normal breathing, 4 times. Then you can extend it to 5 minutes and 1,5 minutes normal breathing.

That would mean:

3:3:1 (3 to 5 minutes)
1-1,5 minutes normal breathing

3:3:1 (3 to 5 minutes)
1-1,5 minutes normal breathing

3:3:1 (3 to 5 minutes)
1-1,5 minutes normal breathing

3:3:1 (3 to 5 minutes)
1-1,5 minutes normal breathing

Once it's easy for you to keep this timing, you can go to:
4:5:1
5:6:1
6:7:2

One more thing: drink a lot of water and take it physically very easy. For my experience I can tell that at the beginning I was hardly able to move physically without being exausted. Now I can do 10 times more things without even feeling it!!
