Hi there
I'm 35 years old and have had Rheumatoid Arthritis for about 20 years. Over the last few years, I have been having chills and shakes prior to my period. This year it got particularly bad and I had fevers up to 39.6 degrees C. I get really bad lower back aches, dizziness, weakness and vomiting. I feel like I want to die when it's happening. Also I've had severe diarrohea. My doctors all think its related to Arthritis and a manifestation of this disease (I'm not convinced because my joints are fine.) I went to a gyneacologist who recommended an Implanon to prevent menstruation. She did an ultrasound and said I had a large uterine cyst which they are reluctant to operate on because I am on immunosuppressants. I've had the implant for about 3 months and I'm getting night sweats and 'little irregular periods'. I get the same fever, vomiting aches etc and have ended up twice this month in the hospital, always dishcarged with 'fever of unknown origin'. My C-reactive protein is really elevated but I have no signs of infection. I think it's definitely related to my hormones somehow. The thing is, I'm already on anti-inflammatory drugs and heaps others. What can I do now? My life is getting a bit miserable! Anyone have any advice for me? Thanks.
