Re: Vitex and Maca and reply

Hi, Firstly I must apologise for not replying sooner. I have had problems with my internet server for about 3 weeks and I lost a few emails, which probably included any automated emails informing me that a message had been posted here at Curezone.
In reply to your question about the herbs Vitex and Maca for endometriosis and heavy bleeding.
The herb Maca is not recommended for women with endometriosis as it is rather potent in its action, and will affect levels of both estrogen as well as progesterone. The levels of estrogen need to be minimised in women with endometriosis as this is the hormone that feeds endometriosis.
However, Vitex is beneficial for endometriosis as this herb helps to balance hormones and in turn will help the body increase progesterone in recognition that levels are low in comparison to levels of estrogen, which will probably be high.
Vitex will also help remove excess estrogen from the body.
It is a good idea to treat the liver with herbs to strengthen it, as the liver is the organ that will help to clear estrogen from the body. Burdock is a good herb to help strengthen the liver.
Horsetail aids to reduce excessive bleeding, and some herbalists believe that it helps keep scar tissue flexible.
The herbal approach to treat fibroids will usually consist of a mixture herbs, and you are better advised to see a herbalist for this.
It is possible to help ourselves with herbs for some health conditions and imbalances of the system, but the advice and support you will obtain from seeing a qualified practitioner will be much more beneficial. You will be provided with a combination of herbs that will be targetted for your condition so that you get maximun benefit.
I hope this advice answers your question and I apologise again for not answering sooner.
