homeschool from Christian perspective
This is my personal opinion. Please don't anyone take this as a condemnation of those who choose public schools either voluntarily or out of necessity. This is for those who have the option of home school but aren't sure about it.

The U.S. Supreme Court in Torcaso vs Watkins , 81 S.Ct. 1681 (1961) contains the following statement:
“Among religions in this country which do not teach what would generally be considered a belief in the existence of God, are Buddhism, Taoism, Ethical Culture, Secular Humanism…”
Here are some quotes from The Safety Net Plan, Chapter 1– The Problem of Humanistic Education, p. 5-6, from Christian Liberty Academy:
---------------------------------------------
Most dictionaries define humanism as a cult which substitutes faith in man for faith in God. It is this faith that the government schools are promoting.
John Dewey, the ‘father’ of progressive education, signed the Humanist Manifesto, as did C. F. Potter, author of Humanism; A New Religion. In that book he writes : “Education is a most powerful ally of humanism, and every American public school is a school of humanism. What can the theistic Sunday schools, meeting for an hour once a week, and teaching only a fraction of the children, do to stem the tide of a five-day program of humanistic teaching?”
Leading secular humanist Paul Blanchard, writing in The Humanist, pronounced: “I think the most important factor leading us to a secular society has been the educational factor. Our schools may not teach Johnny to read properly, but the fact that Johnny is in school until he is 16 tends to lead toward the elimination of religious superstition. The average child now acquires a high school education, and this militates against Adam and Eve and all other myths of alleged history.”
---------------------------------------------
Notice what those men said. Their attitude toward education was not as much about equipping children to face the world as it was about eliminating religion, especially Christianity, from American minds.
Their obvious anti-Christian bias was the basic foundation for our public school system, and the government education establishment has kept the faith. We see it every day in the news, such as when a student is commanded not to mention God in a commencement address, or public prayer is forbidden at a sporting event. Although the US Constitution guarantees our freedom of religion, the humanist religion demands freedom from any religion but its own. Christian parents would be negligent in expecting their children to swim against such an overwhelming tide without suffering damage to their immature faith.
There is no evidence that home education causes children to suffer socially. You will find a much higher percentage of withdrawn, antisocial kids in public schools than in home schools. While there are always exceptions, statistics are heavily on the side of home and private schools in both academics and student behavior.
Even the best American public schools are required to indoctrinate the students in evolution, humanism, and psychology. It wouldn’t make sense to send my children to public school all day, then spend the evening undoing all the spiritual damage. As a Christian parent, I would no more send my children to any of our public schools than Israeli parents would send theirs to Arab schools. From the quotes above, it is obvious that this is not just about education; it is a spiritual battle for the future of America. My children will not enter this battle alone until they are mature and prepared.
