Is this accupuncture doc for real?

I visited an accupuncture doctor to help me with my Acne problems. I am going through a detox right now to help with it and thought it might be a good addition. The accu doc said, after evaluating where I am breaking out, that my stomach and intestinal energy pathways are not healthy. He stuck me with some pins and it felt great. Afterward he told me that I would need to come back to him twice a week at $60 a pop in order to fix my "condition". Now that is really expensive and I definitely don't have the money to do that. So anyway, I asked him if I could help myself by doing some meditation with the chakras to help to open up my energy pathways. He told me no, that it would be too dangerous for me to do that. Dangerous!! I have a chakra meditation on my John Edwards meditation CD that I do on a constant basis. This guy has got to be out for the money...what do you all think?
