Recipes for 2 drinks; 1/2 gallon; 1 gallon
Those measurements do not sound correct. Here's how I calculated it for a 1/2 gallon at a time. You can double the amount for a gallon.
Based on the
Master-Cleanse recipe for each 10
oz drink:
2 TBSP lemon juice
2 TBSP grade B maple syrup
1/10 tsp cayenne pepper
Note: 2 TBSP = 1/8 cup.
For a half gallon (approximately 6 drinks), you can use:
3/4 cup fresh lemon juice
3/4 cup grade B maple syrup (or less)
a tad more than a 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
Add all ingredients to a 1/2 gallon jug/pitcher, and fill with your choice of water.
For a gallon (approximately 12 drinks), you can use:
One and a half cups fresh lemon juice
One and a half cups grade B maple syrup (or less)
One rounded tsp. cayenne pepper
Add all ingredients to a 1 gallon jug/pitcher, and fill with your choice of water.
I have also found success with smaller batches using a 20
oz. water bottle (2 drinks). For this I use:
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup maple syrup
Add to bottle with funnel, then pour water over funnel to get all ingredients in.
I make my own cayenne capsules, and just take one with each drink. For the first capsules (I bought empty size "0" capsules), I put 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne on a clean sheet of paper, and separated it into 5 similar piles. Then I put one pile into a capsule, and used it to "eyeball" the correct amount.
I hope these tips help you!
