One of my favourite on-line dictionaries (linked below) says this about Chase dreams:

Chase
If you are being chased, maybe you are running away from or trying to escape those things that are frightening and unpleasant (possibly your own habits and negative behaviors). On the deepest level, if a stranger is chasing you it may represent your chasing a part of yourself, the unconscious attempts to catch up with the conscious in order for you to become more aware of yourself and your own multidimensional nature.

In my experience Dogs represents our more Conscious Male Self (cats represent the feminine, intuitive, subconscious self). So that chase dream was literally that you were running away from your Conscious Self - you KNEW something, but weren't paying attention to it like you should.

The Snakes can simply symbolize Fear in all it's manifestations. So you were running from a Fear of yours (clues would be given in the situation - what character traits do you have that your brother has?? Are you running away from some similarity? hmmmmm...)

The last dream with the verbal abuse being heaped on your girlfriend..hmmmm...Is there an aspect of yourself (the inner Authority/Policeman) that would like to release some anger in her direction? Do the two of you communicate ALL feelings...do you keep your anger inside with her? If this is a re-curring dream then your psyche is really asking you to look at this...
