Re: dave.. ready?
The only Laura I know is still alive and it was my brother's wife. Unfortunately she does not match that description. My wife does not know anyone by that name either. Both my current and former mother-in-laws are still alive as is my own mother. That dosen't mean that there isn't something we've overlooked. I have watched "Crossing Over" and have seen that often people later find out that someone's real name wasn't what they knew them as etc. I think you are on to something. Meanwhile, I want to point out a couple of things to you that I have observed since coming in contact with you. First of all, I beleive that there are no accidents. I read a really neat book called "When God Winks" by Squire Rushnell, and it basically talks about how there are no accidents and that these "coincidences" are winks from God letting us know that he/she is there looking out for us. So, as far as the things in my life go, I have had many of these, some which were quite profound others just kind of funny. I don't think it's a coincidence that you contacted me on a forum that had been dormant for several months. I found it by doing a search on life after death. Besides that, I am a Libra, and the screen name I used has 69 at the end and you have 70. I don't know why you used 70 but for me, besides the obvious naughty connotations, 69 has a real meaning to me on a spiritual level. Unfortunately, because of the connotations of that number, I am afraid it could be off putting to some who don't know why i used it. To me it means (on several levels) the mutual giving and receiving associated with the cliche of 69 but on a cosmic level it is a depiction of the yen and yang. It embodies the concept of "the love you take is equal to the love you make" and it has came up in my life numerous times. I'll tell you one incident that was pretty cool. When I was in college I went to the bookstore and bought some books. The receipt total was 69.69. As i was leaving a girl was standing by the door and offered me a plastic bag to put them in. I said I didn't need one because (if anyone who has bought college books knows) 70.00 covers maybe a couple of small books and a coke. She didn't work there, it was a self serve situation where you bag them yourself if you want to. She insisted and was very nice, making sure I used two bags despite the fact that the bags were already very thick on there own. I left there feeling very pleased that someone who didn't have to could be so nice. As I walked across the street to my car i noticed a student on a bike carrying groceries in two very flimsy bags. In front of my eyes both bags ripped open and spilled all over the sidewalk in front of me. I was now standing about two feet from my car so I simply emptied my two heavy duty plastic bags, loaded up his groceries for him, and went on my way. Talk about mutual giving and receiving. Some people also call this paying it forward, right? Another time I was working as a security guard at the local flea mart, standing in the hot summer sun for five hours! I went home and was about two miles away from my house when I saw two very nasty looking people walking the opposite direction hitch hiking. For some reason unknown to me I decided to turn around and give them a ride. I drove them several miles in the opposite direction and let them out when I remembered that my car's gas light had been on for some time. I knew I could go usually about 50 miles without running out of gas after the light came on so I had reset my trip mileage counter when the light first came on, and now I saw that I was really close to running out! I had no money for gas and I was kicking myself for being so "stupid" and going out of my way to give them a ride. Don't ask me why, but I didn't run out of gas and when I pulled into my driveway the milage counter clicked over on to the number 69. So, my point is, even though we're not sure why yet, there is something to our meeting. I am amazed how this forum has grown only after you logged on. Keep trying.
