Do I have asperger's syndrome?

I am a teenager who suspects that they might be a gifted child with asperger's syndrome. I meet the diagnostic criteria for asperger's syndrome and have an IQ in the range of a gifted child. However, when I suggested the possibility of me having asperger's syndrome to my mother, she said "asperger's syndrome is related to autism, and you are not autistic" I do not think that she even read any of the information I printed out for her. All of this happened 2 years ago, and the more I think about it, the more I think that I need to know whether I have asperger's syndrome (or cryptosensitivity syndrome which is very similar).
