Fasting & cold shower questions
Dear Andreas,
I am doing my second Master Cleanse in a couple of days. I am aiming for 42 days. I did eight liver flushes last year and also managed to complete a 21-day Master Cleanse in the summer, which helped eliminate certain food issues (basically overeating when under stress). I have also completed a series of bowel cleanses with plain water and urine enemas.
I still have some problems, namely acne, abdominal bloating and dysmenorrhoea so I am trying to balance myself out by aiding my digestion with smaller portions & proper foods plus yoga & breathing exercises to release stress and strengthen my diaphragm & lower abdominals. I estimate I am a Vata-Kapha ayurvedic type.
To get to the point: I have read that you do not endorse fasts due to stagnation of bile and formation of liver / gallbladder stones. My question is, wouldn’t the use of herbs that promote bile flow be helpful during the fast, so digestion will not be compromised later? And also a series of liver flushes following?
Last but not least: hot/cold shower therapy. I have been doing this for some time and find it beneficial and welcomingly revitalising, but do not know if I should continue when I am fasting (especially as its winter). I tend to become hypothermic as I lose weight.
Any opinion would be very much appreciated.
Thanks very much in advance for your time.
Louise
