I am a bit confused about the role of karma and where free will comes into the picture. If for instance, we have some karmic contract to fulfill this lifetime, but due to our evolving nature and free will, we take actions this lifetime which anull the need for that karmic event to occur--since we have mended our ways due to free will, does the karmic event still have to occur??? (For instance if in a past lifetime I killed someone, but this lifetime I fill my life with joyous deeds and kind acts). Will I still have to bear the pain of a previous lifetime if I choose to lead a good life this time?? I think free will is a notch higher than karma, hence by the law of attraction if we lead a joyful, happy and good life this lifetime we shouldn't be faced with the bad karmic event. This is just my analysis of this issue. Would love to hear your point of view on this. As always, your kind advice is greatly appreciated.
