some things just have to be taken on faith. 'proof' isn't always 'scientific' - in the way that we are taught that science is.

in order to include proof of life prior to birth, in general you'd have to alter your view of what scientific proof is. although it is true that many astounding cases of past and former lives have been documented & tracked, and books & TV shows have been produced, most knowledge of this source comes to people in non-documentable ways. I've personally seen 30-50 of my former lives, seen the pictures, gotten their emotional import. I've worked on integrating past trauma from them into this life, this is what comes up as part of my own healing. But scientific proof? Not in this lifetime. :-)

If you look to modern science as proof of deeper realities - to find out the way the world really is set up - you'll always come up wanting. Modern science documents a sliver of reality. (except the new quantum physics gets there, i think, for they have found that matter is not solid and constantly disappears and reappears). For proof there is a wonderful site that i found thru the near death experience forum here on curezone - http://www.near-death.com/experiences/reincarnation04.html none of this man's experience is documentable (besides the fact that he died for 90 minutes) however it is illuminating.
