Re: Menstrual cycle question

Gail,

I wouldn't actually see this as a reason for disappointment. Your body is going through many changes that include repair work, adjustment, and release of old structures. This involves cycles of release of old protein deposits that require longer blood flow than usual. I would encourage you not to eat any concentrated proteins as found in eggs, milk, cheese, fish, meat, etc., for all of these can increase the need for an extended menstrual period. Also, if and when you go into menopause, the timing of the cycles may be become somwhat irratic, depending on what internal adjustments and changes the body goes through.
If you feel you want to take a herb to support your body through this, I suggest Black Coshosh.
