Congratulations on your excellent results. The liver (more than any other organ)has great recuperative powers IF GIVEN A CHANCE. Changing the diet, strengthening the immune system and only eating healthy things help give it a chance, plus the herbs you mentioned. I like a saying the Chinese have: "Strengthen the host."

We are only 2 years from having a much better treatment (many new medications are in clinical trials now and some are in pill form with no side effects). So many of us can wait for that. Thanks for sharing your story I'm sure it will help many.

There is no one solution for all. We all have to do what is best for us according to our own particular life situation and condition of our livers.

I had a friend who died after interferon treatment because his immune system got so weak and he got pneumonia. That was before they had ribavarin. He got so skinny on interferon I couldn't believe it. I was shocked to see his emmaciated condition.

Depression runs in my family and I have a thyroid problem so interferon it is contraindicated in my case. And it's only successful 30% of the time (geneotype 1a). I can wait a couple more years for VX-950. Tweet
