Do u know any natural remedy to prevent seizures?

I have a friend who once lived in a brand new mobile home (purchased by she and her husband.) As a result of the formaldehyde used in the mobile home materials, my friend began having seizures. They moved out of the home when they made the connection but permanent damage was done to her boby and brain. In order to prevent further seizures she must now take a seizure-prevention medicine for the rest of her life. She has been on this medication now for many years. It puts her to sleep every night and she feels she must drink copious amounts of coffee just to stay awake during the day. As a result of living this way for over 10 years now, her health is in very poor condition. She knows she needs to do something else but doesn't know what the alternatives are. Do you know of any alternative which is natural that will prevent these seizures from coming back which would allow her to get off of this medication as well as the coffee? I don't know enough about natural herbs, etc. to be able to help her or even suggest anything. Do you have any idea what this formaldehyde did to her and what can be done to reverse the damage (if anything)?
