what are Hydrides?

My husband is 25 and contracted the HEP C virus about 2 years ago, followed by an almost immediate critical attack. He has been ignoring the disease for the most part, getting sick occasionally with vomiting, diarrhea, until 2 days ago when he had to be hospitalized with jaundice, severe vomiting (blood) and diarrhea, test revealed extremely high levels of the bad stuff in the liver. He's ready to make a diet/lifestyle change, am wondering if liver cleanse is safe to do ASAP, just following critical infection levels. Answers, Agnes, anybody? Thanks.
