swollen eyelids

Has anyone else had (extremely) swollen eyelids? I wondered whether there is a link between very swollen upper eylids and parasitic infection. I used to swim in the Nile for about two years, around 19 years ago. I have had shooting pains in the eye socket, and itchy eyes, and my eyesight has deteriorated in the last three months. I've had these symptoms for around 4 years, but they just got quite a bit worse. I've also had lung problems and lumps appearing over my body. I did ask at my local pharmacy after I got two thin long white things sticking out of my anus if they could be worms, but they said you can't get worms in Scotland, and you can't harbour them for 19 years. Anyone any experience that sheds light on these symptoms? I've started Clarkia double dose,and done two weeks, with no side effects and no clear improvement yet.
