Lice have little holes that they use to breath with; when water is introduced, they are able to close them up. This is how they survive treatment and become supper bugs. To avoid this, you will need to make sure your hair is completely dry before you apply treatment.

Mayonnaise: apply to dry hair; apply bag over hair and sleep.

T-tree oil: add to olive oil, apply to dry hair; apply bag over hair and sleep

grapefruit seed extract: apply to olive oil; apply to dry hair; apply bag over hair and sleep. ( (will highlight hair.))
boric acid: used for bedding and carpet

T-tree oil: add to food grade alcohol/ ever clear alcohol and spray the house down. Make sure you test surface areas to see if they can tolerate the spray; this can be used on the bed and the carpet.

Metal lice comb: ( not plastic) comb hair every morning after your shower for 7 days. Rinse -with water- the comb between each stoke.


Clean the house

Treat the entire family on a hot sunny day. Put all your house hold items -that are made of fabric- out in the sun and spray 1-1 ratio of Food grade alcohol/ ever clear and water on them. Let them sit out in the sun all day. I would then bag them up and place them in the hot garage for 7 days. This is how long it takes for the eggs to mature and die. I would do a small test to make sure the ever clear does not damage the fabric. ((I am thinking of , toys and couch cushions. )) Wash laundry with T-tree oil. I would set out two or three set of cloths for each family member and bag the rest for 7 days. Each night, change pillows and sheets.

I would purchase all new brushes and combs; just trash the old ones. Also, don’t try to save pillows that you sleep with; Just go purchase a new set.

Don’t use store brand lice products ( Rid and others) as they have been proven to cause neurological abnormalities.
