How do you know if your body is acid or alkaline?

I am guessing mine is not alkaline enough, but not sure what to do about it. I have had silent reflux for many years. My diet is "good" - no dairy, avoid most sugar, only moderate meat consumption, only limited gluten, lots of water. Where to start?
