i saw a piece on npr on this one, actually i heard it on the radio. seems mitcxhell was a well known street person or woods person or whatever in that area, many people knew him and his little tribe. he, his people, and elizabeth travelled all around provo the whole time she was "abducted." many people saw her. AFTER she was rescued they cam eout of the woodwork, "oh yeah i saw her at the 7-11, i saw her here and there" they just didn't realize who it was. so here is this girl wandering around provo, not under lock and key or anything of that nature, talking to people, intereacting, not trying to get away.

and mitchell was very well known. he has some kind of radical extremist religious philosophy he harangued people with on the street, but that didn't stop him from bumming a beer and drinking it down once in a while. they made him out to be some kind of cult mastermind, nonesense, he was just a local eccentric weirdo who lived in the woods and somehow gathered a handful of people around him.

he himself may not have even known who this girl was, just another runaway he befriended is all. i am sure it wasn't the first.

yeah, its a demonstration how the media can twist something into anything they want it to be, like how they can manufacture a war out of nothing. they do it just about every ten years, so they're pretty good at it, doesn't take much, but you know they gotta keep in practice.
