Yes, Vermox (a brand name of Mebendazole) appears to be a standard prescriptive med for pinworms. Pyrantel Pamoate (Antiminth and Combantrin brands) is also effective. Piperazine and Pyrvinium are less effective against pinworms.

From link #1: "Adults and children 2 years of age and over: Dose is 100 mg once a day for one day. Treatment may need to be repeated in two to three weeks."
"Children up to 2 years of age: Use and dose must be determined by your doctor."

Vermox appears to be an interesting drug in that the doses for children and adults are the same. From link #3: "Vermox has a simple dosage, just one tablet or 5ml of suspension for each member of the family. No bodyweight measurements or dosage calculations are required. The dose should be repeated in two weeks if necessary, as the life-cycle of the worm is 2 weeks. Vermox should not be used in pregnancy or in children less than one year old."
