Re: I'm desperate, "Please" pray for my health!!
Hello dear, I know what you are going through! I too have a hormonal imbalance and the weight gain that comes with it. FIrst I want to tell you what works for me.
First, I am dealing with my
Depression and anxiety both medically and spiritually. It's okay to have the emotions you have and it's okay to ask God to guide you to healing. That's kind of hard to accept, but it's true none the less.
Next, I have come up with my own "diet" changes. Those of us with this problem need a lower carb diet, but not carb free. Find out those foods that cause you weight gain. For me it was candy for snacks, fast food for lunches, and soda. Boy has it been hard stopping the soda!! For my meals I take only one helping. I take more if I feel really hungry or less when I'm not, but I never take seconds! I make sure that I eat from each food group (except dairy, which I can't eat at all). I tend to eat more protien and veggies/fruit then grains.
Last, excercise is important. But (this is important) DON'T FOLLOW THE GENERAL GUIDELINES!!! When you get to the point where you are your body's needs are different. When I started excercising (in January) I started very, very slowly. Workingout and stretches took 8 minutes total. I did only one excercise for each part of my body. I do "reverse" crunches; you bring your legs towards your chest hold a second or two and lower. I did a modified lunge; step forward and lower to ground just a tiny bit and step back. I used a small soup can as a weight and did two or three arm excercises; one is to raise your arm from your side until level with your shoulder hold a sec or two and lower. Then I did a few stretches holding each for a count of 40. I also walk, I started at one block length and am now up to 8 blocks. (working up slowly)
Since I started this I have finally, after yrs of trying and trying, started to lose the weight. So far I'm down 23 pounds!! Take things slowly and do what you can handle is the key!
Now, remember that God loves you. He says that if you seek you shall find. Instead of asking in prayers, try the thank you prayer. It has 3 parts. 1) Thank God for His creations, the sun, cool breeze or the birds for example; 2)Admit to your sins, for me anger and not forgiving others top my lst; 3) Thank him for the things you need, so it's Thank You for my weight loss Thank You for my health Thank you for lifting my depression. This prayer is a bit odd at first, but it brings such peace to you that you will start looking forward to saying it!!
God bless you, and remember, God Loves you!!!
