Thinking of others that we have not thought of in years

Is this the right forum?
Why is it, that at times someone we haven't thought of in years pops into our minds.
Maybe it was someone you sat next to in the third grade or someone you passed on the street 10 years ago.
They don't seem to have any significance to you,but i wonder if there is a connection.
For instance i briefly thought of this lady that lives in our town, she just popped into my head, i don't know why and i wondered what had become of her, then i just forgot about her .
A few days later there she was. I have seen her 2 days in a row now.
Is there some universal connection , is the universe trying to tell us something.
I find it strange but intriguing that these little episodes of fate happen to all of us.

Anyone come up with an answer for me?
