Hi Abigail,

Anything that gets you to sleep (and hopefully keeps you there) is fine.

The thinking on orinthine is that it supposedly crosses the barrier into the brain and neutralizes ammonia. According to this theory, ammonia is produced by certain parasites, and like smelling salts, this ammonia keeps people awake. So don't worry about orinthine if melatonin works well for you.
