Thanks to -BOB!
Months ago on this forum Bob recommended the Zojirushi rice cooker. As I spend my summers in San Francisco, I went to Japan Town and saw the rice cooker at one of the shops. I picked a five cup rice cooker of the model he recommended, and boy am I happy!!
I have never had rice that comes out so perfect in any other rice cooker I've ever tried. It seems as if the steam is trapped inside of each grain, and as you eat it the steam is released, creating the most wonderful sense of comfort.
I love to make jasmine rice, (a naturally ocuring white rice)with virgin coconut oil and celtic grey salt. I begin by coating the dry rice with the coconut oil, then I add the salt and water according to the measure on the rice basket. WHen the rice is finished cooking, I add a litle more coconut oil to melt on top. Wonderful with veggies.
For the benefits of coconut oil, check the
CO forum.
Thank you again Bob, it's the nicest piece of equipment in my kitchen.
