Re: Reference for best fiber recommended
Here's a link that gives numerous articles on various fiber sources:
http://www.md-phc.com/fiber/indexfib.html
For regular elimination, some will recommend ground flax because it is a combination soluble/insoluble fiber source. Unfortunately, it does not produce the intended results for many...although it does contain essential fatty acids which are beneficial as well. Give it a try and see how it works for you.
Psyllium has been used with good success for regularity....and also helps to lower cholesterol and stabilize blood sugar. Its drawback is that it is a soluble fiber that absorbs a tremendous amount of water and if one is not very diligent about drinking water it can become binding and contribute to dehydration.
My absolute favorite fiber for daily use (not as part of a colon cleansing program) is Wachter's DigestiClenz...it contains psyllium, pectin, digestive enzymes, sea vegetation, etc. Wacther's products are available through distributors and directly from the company...they also make superb nutritional supplements...their Futura 400 is the best vitamin supplement on the planet IMHO!
