Re: Knock Knock - Who's there?
Dear Lapis,
I have read many of your posts in the various forums that you are a regular and I am truly amazed by the amount of knowledge you have stored in that brain of yours. Your responses are oftentimes succint as well as written with style, I can honestly say that I consider you an important and integral part of that which composes CureZone.
I am not sure if on the other hand you have paid any attention to any of the posts that I have included on this forum. Obviously I have not done so for a very long time, as I read for a while before I decided to go ahead and put in my two cents. However the one thing I have strived to do since I began is to try to bring some peace and reconciliation in a Christian manner to some of the more heated discussions. My goal has been only to bring love and understanding, not to promote my own views as such in order to fill some needy part of my ego for recognition. It is just an intrinsic part of my personality to be uncomfortable in prolongued strifeful situations anywhere.
I am sorry that so much of Christianity is unable to expalin their faith without resorting to caustic and irrelevant tactics.
The scripture clearly states in 1st Peter 2:15-16: "but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to every one who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence; and keep a good conscience so that in the thing thing in which you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame."
I have seen just as many mean spirited people on this forum as you describe, people attacking others for petty things like how they take care of their bodies. Entirely missing out the big picture from God's vantage point.
I do believe however, that even if Christianity were solely a religion for the ignorant and uninformed, as we try to fend off the claws of the new world order and any other type of repressive ruling body, we must remember that even the ignorant and intellectually challenged have a right to their own soap box to date.
In coming in from other excellent and appropiate forums to challenge this one; -- what is your true purpose, is it really for the betterment, growth, edification and well being of your target, or is the motivation something else? If on THIS forum, they represent their particular beliefs, however ridiculous or offensive to others, Have they lost their right to do so? If so, by whom? Is it really enlightment that causes someone to be offended by the remarks made by someone else whose beliefs they totally reject? And if they (of the Christian persuasion) in turn are doing the same thing by spewing off some venom directed at those who do not see things as they, again I ask the same question, what is the true motivation, is it a genuine concern for your fellow human being. Gee, it sure doesn't feel that way.
Yes, I am one who would like to see this forum as a place for Christians to iron out their areas of conflict and difficulties, but I would like to see it in a spirit that conforms to the scripture I quoted above.
I love that there are dogma, astrology, spirituality, yoga forums
etc., and think the nature of some of these forums allow for heated debate and that is fine. But I would consider it a strident disrespect if a Christian went into; say the astrology forum to quote what Jehova said regarding such practices. On the other hand, if on this forum, a Christian felt called to correcting another for participating on forums of a different belief system, then I would consider that to be in the scope of a Christian forum. So long as the "correction" was done in a gentle and respectful manner for the benefit of all included.
Thank you for your time, this has been longer than I intended.
