Using fresh herbs

I will be ordering some fresh red clover tops but can't guarantee exactly when they will arrive. If there is a significant amount of time between when the flowers arrive and the New Moon (when I will make the tincture), what can I do to preserve the fresh tops in the meantime? Thanks!
