High Alpha Feto Protein Level

I had gotten back some results from a recent checkup and i would like to seek some advice regarding the following:
-My Alpha-Feto Protien(AFP) Raised over 2000

Regarding this,
1)Does it mean a person is having cancer because his AFP is high?

2)Apart from cancer,could it be due to other reasons?

3)Furthermore,the MRI did not detect any malignant.

Please advice.
