Helping wife off of Premarin

My wife had a full, complete hysterectomy five years ago. She has been on Premarin ever since. My wife is 39 years old. Over the past few years, as I've come to understand some of the problems associated with the artificial HRT products, I've been hoping for a way to help her get off of Premarin. I have given her articles about some of the problems with HRT over the past few years. I haven't been pushy, as I think it's totally her decision. Recently she came to me and said she was ready to get off of Premarin and asked my help in figuring out the best way to do so. I'm hoping to find someone or several people here who have had experience with the same or similar situation.

A few years before the complete hysterectomy, she had one of her ovaries removed because it was very cystic and was causing her great pain on a regular basis. When the one ovary was removed, she had hot flashes and night sweats for a couple of months. She is now worried about the impact of going directly off of Premarin without something else to help alleviate the potential side effects of a dramatic and sudden "menopause."

My initial studies led me to two things, one being Schulze's suggestion of taking four weeks to gradually back off of the Premarin plus adding Schulze's Female formula. On the surface, this sounds reasonable, but.... I worry that it may be too fast. I worry that since the Female formula does not contain hormones and is a hormone regulator, that her pituitary gland will not produce enough estrogen naturally to prevent her from dropping directly into a deep menopause.

The second thing I've just started investigating is Dr. Jonathan Wright's "Bio-identical Estrogen." At this point, I know less about it than I do the Female formula. On the surface, it sounds reasonable because it includes the dozens of estrogens naturally produced by the human body and not the horse hormone equilin. The claims are that people on this don't have the risk of cancer because this product contains an abundance of estriol, the version of estrogen found abundantly in cancer-free women.

As I sit here, I'm leaning towards the Schulze approach, probably because I understand it better and it seems more natural. On the other hand, I'm still very worried about sending my wife into hot flashes and night sweats, totally killing her libido, and all the other menopausal symptoms. She is not ready for that.

Can someone with experience with this or a similar situation offer suggestions and guidance? Thanks for your help.
