Chronic conjunctivitis remedy?

Can anyone suggest an herbal or natural remedy for chronic conjunctivitis? I have extremely dry eyes that don't make enough tears to protect against pollen or other allergens, and the sclera of my eyes is disfigured with little red veins. I do use artificial tears, but nothing seems to help the redness.

I don't drink alcohol or smoke; I'm tired of looking like every night was an all-nighter! Any suggestions would be much appreciated!
