And then there is such a thing as reading way to much into what people are saying, and basically putting words in their mouths. That is what you appear to be doing in this case. Perhaps you have read into these jokes, the extreme, but that is not necessary. Would you even bat an eyelash if someone joked about America. Not likely. France is a fairweather friend, and they need the USA a lot more than the USA needs them.But I guess it is all in your view of who the enemy is. If you believe it is America, then your going to side with Iraq and France. If you believe it is Saddam's Iraq then you will side with America.
I don't believe that those jokes could even lead a person to think "OH we'll just NUKE them till they glow, they are not even humans".
