Triglycerides and Cholesterol; C- Reactive Protein and Heart Attacks

After just seeing an ad on TV for Lipitor I thought I should write in. My husband had trig. over 1000. He took l-carnitine, fish oil, and red rice yeast. Seems two of each a day. I don;t remember the mgs. His chol. was not too scary. But up. But his levels went down to 550 after 4-6 months. We have a ways to go. But I will keep you informed. Seems a liver cleanse may do good as someone suggested also. However the dr. said you have to check the C- reactive protein levels to see if heart attack is imminent when you have hi levels of the above. (some don;t know what it is --- look it up so you know) If those CRP levels are ok... then your problem will be a sugar problem and stay away from flour and sugar. Then you won;'t get diabetes which I guess comes next. If CRP is bad... you are headed for a heart attack. My friend had a massive heart attack and had no cholesterol or hi tri's. I would bet she had CRP but she never called and said she checked it. Her doctor obviously never knew about it cause he said the only way to see if you are going to have a HA is to do a stress test with isotopes. He never mentioned CRP.
