The Significance Of Butterflies

This is not as cryptic as you may have been expecting, alas...

Yesterday afternoon, as I sat pondering, a butterfly flew in through my bedroom window and flew around for a period of time, dancing about my person and captivating my attention to such an extent that the whole experience felt other-worldly...

Again, today, what appeared to be the exact same butterfly returned and performed the same ethereal dance to my senses, and again departed leaving me feeling blessed by something I could not quite understand. Upon reflection, and as I attempted to discern what it may mean on a higher level, the butterfly again entered my bedroom and cavorted above my head as if to tease me. It then rested upon my window and I rose to study it closer. I know this may sound crazy, but I could feel it staring at me and it sat motionless for some minutes before flying around my head and out my window once again.

And so, I am wondering if there is any form of spiritual significance to these rather intriguing events; what the butterfly may represent, for instance.
