Re: Cool Story/Spiritual Message At It's Root
Dear Lapis
This is a very nice and interesting story. However I have something to say.
I am from Venezuela. It is a very beautiful country. There are beautiful beaches and the weather is very nice. Venezuela has oil and therefore considered a rich country. But if you go to Caracas the capital , you can see a terrible contrast. You can see very high and nice buildings and around the city terrible poverty. There are millions of very poor houses where there are no services, no education or not health care and high criminality.
The reason? There are many reasons. But one of them is the lack of motivation/interest of most of people. It has been traditional to take the life the easy way. Do not work more that necessary, do not study more that the necessary, do not make any big effort. The communities do not care about improving their environments, they do not learn enough about the politicians before electing them and so on.
I think that is one of the reasons for poverty in Latinoamerica. Additional to this there are of course corruption and lack of education.
I do not disagree from your post. I only wanted to make the point about the importance of do not go to the extremes. Sometimes in he USA and Anglo-Saxon world there is too much concern about work, success, effort, and in other countries there is too little effort and too much interest on laziness and just enjoy the life. I think in any case balance is the answer.
That is why I really liked the Post about Osho and the medium point. Very interesting.
Thanks
