My Rules for Dealing With Prophecy

the below post made me think about prophecy, a subject i have been around for long time in vairous forms. here are some simple rules to help you discern prophecy and not become too jaded.

1. take all prophecy with a grain of salt

2. the best prophecies are those that coincide cross culturally. in other words if various ancient or modern clutures independanlty prophesy very similar things then that is something to pay attention to.

3. those who write lots of books and get real famous and rich from prophecy should be taken with a double grain of salt. some are frauds,some are genuine prophets seduced by money and power.

4. never let any prophecy interfere with your day to day living. you are only promised today, make the most of it, don't spend it fretting about the ramifications of a possible prophecy that may or may not be coming about.

5. free will exists and therefore all prophecy can be altered.

6. God loves us all equally and if you really want to change things make your own prophecy about the love of God transforming the world, then live it.
