The inadequacy of emotional thought and the irrationality of evil.

Right now, it's early in the morning and I don't really have time to do much more than skim over your post, but I find it very interesting, especially because the subject is so insightful and just simply NOTICING that emotional "THOUGHT" (if you want to call it that) is too impulsive to be considered PURE (rational) thought requires some very profound thinking. I didn't read in-depth what you said about artist's and poets, but I think that the reason they are more creative is that, (like myself) are more SENTIMENTAL than emotional. Of course, as human beings, we all have the ability to FEEL emotions (happiness, sadness, embarassment, shame, guilt, etc.), but, I don't LET emotions RUN MY LIFE, I let SENTIMENT run my life.

From what I can remember from PHENOMENOLOGY, there are two kinds of information that we process,...PHENOMENAL information and NEUMENAL information. Phenomonal info is what the five senses (sight, sound, taste, touch and smell) process. Neumenal info is info processed by the brain. Since everybody's brain is different, neumenal info is negotiable and subjective (the mind works the way we want it to). Phenomenal info, depending on the general health of our nervous system, would tend to be more reliable/dependable, but since our decision-making processes are usually self-serving (choosing what's best for ourselves rather than what's best for the group, society), it is the subjective, emotional neumenal thinking that will aways (unfortunately) be the inevitable determination of most people's behavior. The disruption of harmony is the result, which is why I say in the title of this post...

evil is irrational/illogical/unreasonable..............it disrupts harmony!

The term and concept of "phenomenology" was first mentioned in a scientific writing (journal) about 150 years, ago but never got accepted as a "legitimate" concept until about 5 years ago, how's that for mankinds own self-limiting thought processes? I don't believe that the human mind would really, truly allow our COLLECTIVE introspection, we might notice too much selfishness and chaos. When I have more time during the week, I'll re-read your post and the website (very interesting and insightful).

P.S. I also recognize the respect and concern you have for the human race (the people), and since I am one of them, I just have to say...THANK YOU.
