Great article! Also another thing that Aspartame does and why people are not losing weight by consuming it--it actually increases appetite. So they ingest less calories in the pop or other sugar-free product, but it makes them hungrier so they eat possibly more calories than they would have just eating a sugared product because they continue to eat. I read an article about it in a natural magazine offline, but perhaps I could find the study online somwhere.
