I have had two varices bleeding episodes. The cirrhosis is at end stage and though I received a temporary shunt after the second bleeding two months ago a recent angiogram did not locate the shunt. this indicates that varices have started to form again. I am on lactulose twice a week to stop the shakes and taking nexium at times to deal with pain on right upper side.
I now need a sleep almost every afternoon for a rest period. Medically the alternatives are an operation for permanent shunt which could be fatal or cause speedier mental decline. Once the liver is completely shoot from unknown causes (not alcohol, not hepatitis) would any of these flushing be able to pentrate and correct the blood flow to stop the varices from growing and bleeding.
Prognosis without another shunt put in, is that I have up to two years during which I will experience mental and physical decline.
If I go ahead with doc's recommendation I will be treated medically and will Dr. Schulze 's Liver Flush etc be of benefit to me at this stage?
