Pain needs to be controled - brain shrinkage

I posted this elsewhere, but it needs to be here too
Doctors need to get people's pains under control!!

Here is some more proof:

"Brain shrinkage from chronic pain" - MRI study

The study looked at the MRI brainscans of people who had Researchers scanned the brains of people with severe low back pain for many years and found that "the longer they had been in pain, the more grey matter then lost".

Those with back pain had 5% to 11% less grey matter, the amount normally lost to 20 years of ageing.

Your brain "not on drugs" could be worse than without - if you are in pain.

Proper pain control is looking more like an essential requirement rather than a matter of being courageous. The courageous will experience dementia much worse compared to those who get their pain under control, as their brain shrinks from the reactions of our brain while we are in pain.

Doctors often undermedicate due to liability and the cultural bias of "just take it" attitudes.

Horemones are used up, brain chemicals depleted, the energy needed to keep it healthy - these are all taken away when your pain is chronic, constant and long term. Neurons are overactive in pain people. This 'Temporal Lobe Atrophy' leads to dementia.

We first have an instinct to get rid of pain, and then we let our social brains take over and try to live with it as if it were not there. We have been trained to be that way. Modern society has more painfull conditions, due mostly to medical interventions ironically, than cultures of old.
Chronic pain is very much a modern ailment, it was never such a common thing before. People would die I suppose, from the things that lead to pain in modern society [-they still do in the third world?].
