New Program - Acne Cure

Hi there,

I just started reading a book called, "The Acne Cure" it brand new, and was just published earlier this year.

Anyway, I am going to start the regimen this week (which claims to clear even the most severe cases in 4-6 weeks). Although I don't really believe all of the claims the book seems to have some good points and I was just wondering if anyone has tried this program.

Here's what it says to do:

Step One:

Cleanse skin with neutral pH cleanser.

Step Two:

- Wet Acne affected areas with warm water
- pour a small amount of any 2% salicylic acid lotion into your palm and mix with a few drops of water
- Gently massage mixture into skin with circular motion making sure to cover entire area affected
- Leave lotion in place for a while (they recommend the time it take to brush your teeth well) then rinse off with warm water

* do this first thing in the morning and last thing at night
* for men immediately after shaving

Step Three:

- Using a glycolic acid product with between 8% and 10% active ingredient repeat same steps as above

* do this in the morning only

Step Four :

- run an ice cube over the area you intend to treat until skin is thoroughly wet and cold to touch (but not frozen)
- apply a benzoyl peroxide product (that has been kept cold in a refridgerator) by first cooling palm with ice - and then placing product in palm and distributing product to affected areas
- once product has been applied place a cold pack on the affected areas and leave in place for ten minutes while you relax. Being careful not to freeze your face
- When 10 minutes is up wipe off any excess product with a soft dry cloth, leaving the residue to work overnight.

* do this only at night

Step Five:
- Apply an oil-free moisturizer with at least SPF 15 before going outside.

It's a very interesting book and I recommend reading it - they also talk a little about proper diet and taking vitamins and keeping your stress level down.

The only thing I'm a little worried about is putting ice on your skin, because I remember reading that ice applied directly onto skin can cause broken capillaries.

Anyways, I'm going to try it and hope it helps other people as well.

Good Luck!!!!!
